The Alpe d'Huez ski area, with a vertical drop of approximately 2,200 m, offers 250 km of slopes to challenge all levels. The 133 pistes (43 green, 34 blue, 40 red and 16 black) run between Pic Blanc, the Sarenne glacier, La Fare and Château Noir and are linked by a network of 84 ski lifts (including chairlifts, chairlifts and magic carpets). Among the many slopes, the most famous is the Sarenne slope, which is the longest slope in the world! This magnificent slope leads from the glacier all the way to the Alpe d'Huez ski resort itself, and is 16 km long! 900 snow cannons ensure that the 86 km of slopes in the Alpe d'Huez ski area are covered with maximum snow.
Cross-country skiing fans will appreciate the 50 km of trails in and around Alpe d'Huez, which comprise a total of 15 circuits at Lake Besson, beyond the Maronne Pass or on the Signal mountain ridge.
A special off-piste area of 21 hectares is completely dedicated to freeriders of all levels. There are also 2 snowparks to choose from, one for beginners and the other for advanced freestylers, offering a variety of different facilities for the most extreme jumps and tricks. Nine Big Airs (blue, red or black), 1 half pipe, 10 bars with slides etc, 2 boardercrosses , an Air Bag (extra charge) and a "hip" allowing advanced snowboarders to perform a range of tricks. For less experienced skiers and snowboarders, the beginners snowpark has a range of boxes and rail-boxes plus a ridge and other equipment.
Le Signal's 950m long slalom park welcomes you for night skiing on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ideal for those who just can't put their skis and snowboards away at the end of the day...
