Les Trois Vallées -Three Valleys is the biggest ski resort in the world.
600 kilometres of pistes are served by 200 interconnected lifts in 8 ski areas. It's like Vail, Park City Canyons and Whistler combined. Although the name translates to Three Valleys, it's actually 4 major mountain valleys, 25 peaks, including 8 ski areas, the largest of which are Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens.
Les Trois Vallées offers skiers and snowboarders 600km of ski terrain, which is more than you can ski in a week. You may even have enough for a whole ski season. You can get to the 3 valleys by car, train or bus. The mountains lie east of Grenoble, west of Val d'Isere - Tignes and south of Chamonix - Mont Blanc. This is the Savoie region of France, famous for its apres-ski and local renowned cuisine - try cow's cheese fondue or raclette for lunch at a mountain chalet - with local cheeses Beaufort, Gruyere and Reblochon, best enjoyed with local wines made from Gamay, Pinot Noir and Moneuse grapes.
